Space-time databases modeling global semantic networks
نویسندگان
چکیده
This paper represents an approach to creating global knowledge systems, using new philosophy and infrastructure of global distributed semantic network (frame knowledge representation system, FRS) based on the space-time database construction. The main idea of space-time database environment introduced in the paper is to bind a document (an information frame, a knowledge) to a special kind of entity, that we call permanent entity, — an object without history and evolution, described by a " point " in the generalized, informational space-time (not an evolving object in the real space having history). For documents (information) it means that document content is unchangeable, and documents are absolutely persistent. This approach leads to new knowledge representation and retreival techniques. We discuss the way of applying the concept to building a global distributed scientific library and scientific workspace. Some practical aspects of the work are elaborated by the open IT project http://sourceforge.net/gil/.

Small-world Structure in Children’s Featured Semantic Networks
Background: Knowing the development pattern of children’s language is applicable in developmental psychology. Network models of language are helpful for the identification of these patterns. Objectives: We examined the small-world properties of featured semantic networks of developing children. Materials & Methods: In this longitudinal study, the featured semantic networks of children aged 1...
متن کاملGenerating an Indoor space routing graph using semantic-geometric method
The development of indoor Location-Based Services faces various challenges that one of which is the method of generating indoor routing graph. Due to the weaknesses of purely geometric methods for generating indoor routing graphs, a semantic-geometric method is proposed to cover the existing gaps in combining the semantic and geometric methods in this study. The proposed method uses the CityGML...
متن کاملVarious Events Involved in Spatio-temporal Databases
In general, time has two kinds of semantic, i.e., time-scale semantic and event-sequence semantic (Shu Hong, 1998). In spatio-temporal databases (STDB), time-scale semantic refers to the time positioning of geographical objects, and event-sequence semantic to spatial and thematic change description. Here event and change are alternatively termed without further meaning distinction. Almost a dec...
متن کاملLandform Monitoring and Warning Framework Based on Time Series Modeling of Topographic Databases
Global Positioning System (GPS) and geodetic control networks are used today for analyzing and monitoring time-dependent crustal deformations, providing a series of accurate positional measurements to deliver information on positional changes and deformations that have occurred. Still, such networks present a low-resolution dispersal of positional measures, and do not take into account various ...
متن کاملSemantic Integrity Constraint Checking for Multiple XML Databases
Global semantic integrity constraints ensure integrity and consistency of data spanning multiple databases. In this paper, we take initial steps towards representing global semantic integrity constraints for XML databases. We also provide a general framework for checking global semantic integrity constraints for XML databases. Furthermore, we set forth an efficient algorithm for checking global...
